Personal Injury Settlement Amounts

Published by admin under Personal Injury Lawyer

Personal injury settlement amounts provide the claimed amount to the plaintiff that has filed in the court for a personal injury. The amount depends on how much damage has resulted from the injury. The amount that the injured person would get is determined when the insurance companys adjuster and the attorney try to predict what the jury would offer from the claim.

The amount of the claim is also determined by factors like the injury damage and the loss occurred during the personal injury. It also considers what the witness would make in the court along with the damage that has happened. Then the attorney and the insurance adjuster would make an agreement with the client to fix up the approximate personal injury settlement amount. A personal injury attorney knows exactly the worth of the case with his prior experience in dealing with these types of cases and claims.

The amount from the personal injury settlement would also depend on various factors like the injury severity, the time duration for the treatment, damage done in the amount of permanent tissue, the resulted damage, the amount of work missed, how much pay was lost, how it affected the persons ability and lifestyle, and how much the ability to work is lost. Generally, many cases result in settlement amounts for pain and suffering awards around $900 to $115,000. All the major settlement amounts would be offered depending on these factors that are specified.

Whoever was at fault at the time of injury could also be an important factor in the personal settlement amount. One would be interested to know what kind of settlement amounts they can receive. In general, these amounts can be offered only after the insurance companys adjuster and your attorney each predicts the offer that would be made by the jury. They normally do this after reviewing all the witnesses and the strength of your testimony. Moreover, it is in our interest to get the highest possible amount since the fee is a part of the settlement amount.

Massage Therapy School - What Do You Learn?

Published by admin under Massage Technique

When you attend massage therapy school, you will learn what a massage is and how it helps people. A massage is the special treatment that is given to various parts of the body that include rubbing, stroking, slapping, and kneading. Massages are performed to relieve muscle spasms or stiffness and can also help with cramps, anxiety, and tension. You will also learn the connections that touch therapy (massage therapy, the two terms are used to mean the same thing) has with memory.

It has been stated that because a person can relax and give in to a massage that their mind will be at ease and their memory will be short-termed improved. Massage therapy works in two basic ways that helps the client. The basic massage includes stoking, rubbing, and kneading. It will stimulate physical and emotional healing power. The physical part of a massage allows the muscles to relax and not feel so tight. The stimulation will allow a person to feel the relaxing or healing power that they are receiving.

As for the different types of massages that you will learn, there are so many that most schools will only touch base on. Its up to you to learn them and master them so that you are prepared for a job or for your own business opportunity. Massages that originate from the East are Shiatsu, Acupuncture, and Polarity. They all involve the clients body energy and help them release negative energy while you, the therapist, give them positive energy. In most massages that are eastern or evolve around the persons energy do not evolve any touching at all.

Some massages actually. Some of the Western types are Swedish, Escalen, Neuromuscular therapy, trager, and other deep massages that are used to release tension from the muscles. As for the western massages, they are based on the understanding of the body and the muscles that are located in the body.

Some of the descriptions for certain massages include some of the basic strokes or rubbing techniques and add a twist to them. Example, the Swedish massage includes long strokes and kneading in circular movements. It is very gentle and relaxing. It also adds the use of lotions or oils. Aromatherapy is much like a Swedish by it incorporates scented oils that address certain skin needs.

Hot stone is very unique because it applies smooth, heated stones to points on the arms, legs, chest, and back to release any muscle tension and balances the bodys energy. When it comes to a deep tissue massage, the massage therapist uses slower strokes that will often make people feel sore for a couple days after massage.

As for shiatsu, it is a form of Japanese massage and uses finger pressure in soothing rhythm. They are firm, but relaxing. Tai massage is something that you will probably learn. It incorporates yoga into massage. There are plenty more types that you can learn and master.

Real Estate Investing: Tax Liens

Published by admin under Investment Properties

Certain measures have to be taken by the government to make delinquent taxpayers to pay taxes that are due, tax lien is one such method adopted in 18 states, where as the rest of the states use the tax deed system. In states where applicable, tax liens are sold to investors for taxes that are over due, and the investor can collect interest from the homeowners for the amount invested in the tax liens. If the homeowner fails to pay the tax lien plus interest, the investor may foreclose on the house and gets to own the property without any problems, as it is a first priority claim.

Advantages of Investing In Tax Liens:

This method of investing in real estate is gaining popularity as investors are guaranteed a favorable return on their investment or in extreme cases deeded rights to a property. The earning potential is about 16% to 24% and it is considered a low risk and a low maintenance investment. These interest rates are untouched by any changes in the Federal Reserve interest rates. Another reason why investors love this method is that they lien does not subject them to land owner liability. Tax liens are secure investments as they are but a fraction of the property value.

When property tax delinquents are given adequate time as well as warnings to pay the arrears, and they fail to do so for more than a year and a half, the tax collectors will list their property taxes liens and sell them in an auction. The property owner is informed of the intended sale of their tax lien as well as published in the local newspaper. Once the tax lien is sold, the homeowner is given a fixed time frame, the redemption period, to repay the tax lien plus interest. Foreclosure of the home is inevitable if the amount due is not paid within the redemption period. The investor is granted full rights of ownership to the property and in case the money owed is repaid while foreclosure is initiated; the investor has the right to charge the cost of he foreclosure to the homeowner too. Thus they have potential to huge profits. If foreclosure occurs the property is given free and clear of all other claims to the investor. Another advantage is that the investor need not worry about redemption as the county is in charge of that and usually they need have no contact with the delinquent taxpayer. If the redemption has been paid to the county, the county returns the principle amount plus the interest to the investor on producing the tax lien certificates. Should the same homeowner is delinquent again the investor has a priority claim on the tax lien.

Treat Your Dog To A Massage

Published by admin under Massage Technique

A massage is a great idea for a dog treat. When properly done it will help release any pent up stress or tension, resulting in a calm and more peaceful pet.\r Dogs show their emotions in their face and mouth a lot, and most restless dogs that are either tense, aggressive, or hyperactive have a tendency to bark and chew to relieve their tension. A therapeutic massage on their muzzle and gum line often helps animals with these behavior problems.

Apart from keeping your dog calm and happy, you should also find that giving your pet a massage will provide many health benefits. It promotes good circulation and flexibility, and alleviates arthritic pain. Other benefits include aiding in surgical recovery, and helping pets heal from emotional or physical traumas, and improved muscle tone. Massage can also help to prevent injury. Many of the healthy pets we have are very active, whether in the show ring or tracking, herding, playing chase or Frisbee. They use and abuse muscles frequently. Massage relaxes the muscle, reduces strain and helps avoid injury.

One technique is to make little circles on the muzzle and jaw with your fingers. Gently move the skin in a clockwise direction forming a full circle, then move your hand over and make another circle right next to it. Take your time, and be gentle.

A massage will also help you bond more with your dog. Whether your dog is active or inactive, young or old, you can provide a gentle comforting touch. The best part of a massage is relaxation an ideal treat for both you and your pet.

Asbestos Claims - History, Symptoms And Compensation

Published by admin under Personal Injury Lawyer

Asbestos was once regarded as a wonder substance due to its heat resistant properties. It was, therefore, a widely used material, particularly from the 1930s 1980s and exposure still continues wherever it is disturbed / removed.

The cost of asbestos claims in the UK could reach 20 billion in the next 30 years.

Claims can be made by Claimants, even though the exposure was 30 or more years ago, and the past employer(s) has gone out of business.

Claims can also be made for deceased Claimants on behalf of their loved ones/estate.

Successful secondary claims for Asbestos exposure have been made by spouses, children and grandchildren, after they were exposed to harmful fibres on work clothes worn home.

The compensation obtained can, in many cases, amount to well in excess of 100,000, depending upon the severity of the particular disease.

Asbestos has no respect for socio-economic group or occupation. There are over 1,000 new cases of Mesothelioma reported every year in the UK. It is generally accepted asbestos is the cause.

The types of occupation where exposure can be found/occur include the following:-

  • Asbestos Cement Products Industry (used for strong, inexpensive building materials, eg tiles, corrugated roofing, gutters, water and drain pipes, chimneys etc.
  • Floor tiling industry
  • Insulation and Fire Proofing
  • Carpenters
  • Electricians
  • Power Plant Works
  • Plumbers
  • Roofers
  • Central Heating and/or air conditioning contractors
  • School and Hospital workers
  • Ship workers

Symptoms can include breathlessness and persistent coughing which may cause sleepless nights leading to fatigue. Some sufferers report chest pain and feeling as though a heavy weight is pressing down on their chest, depending upon the particular condition.

There are a number of state benefits available to victims and their carers. A specialist Solicitor can not only pursue compensation claims for sufferers on a true No Win, No Fee basis, but also provide advice and assistance with applications in order to maximise benefit entitlement.

Best Wrinkle Treatments

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

There are many options out there that can significantly or modestly help you to improve your skin and reduce your wrinkles. Each of these choices has worked for some people but there is no guarantee that any treatment will work for you. Consulting with your dermatologist and your cosmetic surgeon is the best way to finding out your potential benefit.

Here are some best wrinkle treatments.

- Wrinkle creams. These are easily available and can work for you. To make sure you get cream that is useful, try to find those that contain Retinal. In addition, look for those that contain Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. Keep in mind, however, that products which promise to be miracle solutions are not likely to be that good, though.

- Botox. This is one of the most marketed products today for getting rid of wrinkles from the face. If you are interested in trying a solution that is minimally invasive, this is the right choice. But, take into account that you may need to have it redone a lot. It is a simple solution and one that can be done on your lunch break.

- Face lift. The face lift is a much more radical choice, but it does not have to be. There are much smaller types of changes that can be done to help expand the skins ability to look wonderful. Small and large changes can be done to get rid of the wrinkles in your skin.

These are just some of the best wrinkle treatments that are available to you to help you to improve your skin condition. Take the time that is necessary to select the right one that fits your need and the budget that you have.

What You Should Know About Anxiety Disorders

Published by admin under Anxiety Center

Anxiety is a natural human reaction. And contrary to popular opinion, anxiety can be beneficial because it alerts poeple to potential dangers and gives off an adrenaline rush that can help them accomplish a task in record time.

But like many things, anxiety when taken into the extreme can have disastrous results. These feelings can lead to panic attacks and chronic worrying that can slowly affect the way a person deals with other people and with normal life situations.

Anxiety disorder, as psychologists would want to call this condition, can range from something as simple as feelings of uneasiness to responses as severe as feelings of terror and claustrophobia. Fortunately, among the psychological disorders, anxiety problems are one of the most common and the most treatable. Combinations of medications and behavior therapy are often given. Symptoms of anxiety problems include fast heartbeat and palpitations, chest pains and difficulty in breathing, anxious thoughts that persist even without any concrete reason, dizziness and nausea, sweating, trembling, difficulty in concentrating, fearful thoughts and feelings of disorientation and claustrophobia.

Below are the types of anxiety disorders as mentioned in the DSM-IV.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder is characterized by excessive but unwarranted worries that a person cannot stop having. Although most people will experience these kinds of feelings every once in a while, a disorder is only diagnosed if the feelings persist for six months and start to affect work and the persons relationships with other people. Some of the common symptoms that people should watch out for are physiological reactions such as headaches, trembling, muscle tension, sweating, and trouble staying or falling asleep. There are also bouts of restlessness and sweating.

Panic disorder is another type of anxiety disorder characterized by feelings of terror that strikes so suddenly without immediate cause. Often, people who are having panic attacks feel pains in their chest with their heartbeats going fast. Some will also feel lightheadedness and even nausea. They will find it hard to breathe and may feel unwarranted fears. Although most attacks usually last for about a few minutes, there are some that last for almost ten minutes and even those that continue on for an hour. A disorder is diagnosed when the attacks happen in a time frame of just four weeks.

We fear a lot of things but there are some people who are quite irrational with their fears. These fears on things are called phobias. There is a long list of phobia forms, having a specific name for each item that is feared. A person, for instance, who is afraid of open spaces has what psychologists like to call agoraphobia. Phobias are characterized by extreme anxiety and even panic attacks when confronted by the object being feared. Many of the symptoms that are felt during panic attacks are also felt during phobic episodes.

Post-traumatic stress disorder also falls under anxiety disorders. PTSD, as it is often called, often developed after experiencing, witnessing or participating in a traumatic and terrorizing event such as death, war, torture and other extreme circumstances. PTSD is characterized by intense anxiety and nightmares at night. People who have PTSD also find it difficult to sleep and to concentrate on things. Often, anxiety attacks go to the extreme when confronted with situations that have similarities with the one experienced.

The Best Professional Advice!

Published by admin under Ethics In The Workplace

The best professional advice!

All of your possibilities from this moment, are located in your own personal expectations. All of your expectations are located in the very personal relationship you have with yourself. The relationship you have with yourself is the relationship you will have with others.

What matters most is how you see yourself! Take very good care of the relationship you have with yourself at all times.

I was a member of Toastmaster International and in 1984 Caroline Sander RN introduced me to the National Speakers Association. I went to all the local chapter meeting and to the National Conventions. The first meeting I attended, I felt a little uneasy about being in this new setting. Billy Arcement came up to me and introduces himself from Donaldsonville Louisiana. Billy knew that I was uneasy about being at this meeting. He said, If you have a dream in your heart long enough, you have what takes to realize that dream. \r I never forgot those words.

Ginger Bondi was the president of our local chapter. Ginger was tough love. I listened and took notes of everything other speakers in the chapter said that I must do to convince people to hire my topics. I practice all of these ideas.

I called Ginger Bondi and ask if I could come and speak with her. I told her that I did not want to do anything to hurt the speaking profession. That I wanted to abide by the code of etitics of the National Speakers Association.

I shared with Ginger how I just signed a contract for a speaking engagement in Tampa Florida. This was my first really serious paying engagement. I told her I was nervous that they would find out that I was just a Bicycle Shop Owner. This audience was to executives of the steel industry. Ginger said, Knock it Off, Mike Marino; I want you to go to Tampa and just be yourself! If you go there thinking they are better, you will not do well. If you go there thinking you are better than they are, you will definitely not do well.

You must go to Tampa and be who you are and allow them to be who they are, and you will do just fine. I embraced Gingers advice. I did well and was privilege to speak with many of the other chapters in the steel industry after that.

The next best advice that I received was from Michael Lebouf PhD. I was attending a local chapter meeting of NSA and everyone was sharing what it took to be a full time professional speaker. When it was Dr. Leboufs turn to share he said, Just be good!\r If you are good, people will say she is good! He is good!

Rick Phillips sales & staff trainer gave me this advice. Never beat a dead horse! All good things come to an end and then something better begins. Get on a new horse to take you the rest of the way. Forward ever, backwards never!

All of this advice applies to any profession. Keep your dream in your heart. Be yourself, and be good at what you do. Never beat a dead horse. Its over! What are you going to do about it?

The room for improvement is still the greatest room in the world. You can improve on your dreams. You can improve on your relationship with yourself and others. You can improve on your proformance in your profession. You can get a new horse. It does not cost anything to think big. It pays to be good.

All advice translates into the same thing. Take care of yourself. If you want to do twice as much for yourself, your family, your profession, community, take care of yourself twice as much.

Tips On Taking Care Of The Face

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

What makes a beautiful face?

Besides the almond eyes or doe eyes that most women salivate for; the luscious lips or the patrician nose, one should have flawless skin.

This however is easier said than done. Although there are people who are gifted with the perfect skin, there are some, the majority in fact, who have to struggle everyday just to take care of their skin.

How to take care of the skin

Facial skin care is not as complicated as some think. With the right attitude and discipline, one can actually create a facial skin care routine that will help bring about that healthy glow. Below are just some tips that can help you start.

1. Get a good night sleep

They did not call it beauty sleep for nothing. Having the right amount of sleep can actually help the skin regenerate. This is also the time when the skin can breathe in from going all day with make-up.

2. balanced diet

Eating lots of fruits and vegetables can help the skin stay supple and soft. In fact, foods that are rich in Vitamin C and E are good for the skin as it serves as excellent anti-oxidants.

3. Moisturize

The skin on the face needs to be kept moisturize all the time as this is the part of the skin that is often exposed to the sun and the harsh environment. Moisturizing the skin will help prevent the appearance of wrinkles and lines that may let you appear older than you really are.

4. Cleansing routine

It is important that one follow a cleansing routine every day. Remember that it is a cardinal rule to always remove the make-up before going to sleep. Turning in the night with make-up on will only result in clogged pores and eventually, acne. Although there are products that go great for certain types of skin, experts recommend the use of mild soap especially to those who have sensitive skins.

5. Sunscreen

The suns harmful ways can bring much damage to the skin. In fact, the sun is the number one culprit when it comes to wrinkles and dark spots. The sun can destroy the skins natural protection. That it why it is important that you put sunscreen every day, even when you are not planning to go to the beach or to go out. Experts recommend the use of sunscreens that have SPH 15 or higher for all day protection.
