Face Care

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

If you have a very clear skin with no problems like acne or blemishes, then it may not be worth your money spend in Salon facials. I have several experiences in the past when I felt the money that I had spent on facials was wasted.

I do facials when ever I feel that there is a problem with my facial skin. In the past when I had little knowledge on facials, all I would try was simple fruit or vegetable facials. The truth is that the effect of such facials lasts very short time and these facials could be done at a much lower cost at your own home.

I had a spa facial last year. This facial was a seasonal offer for promoting their spa. The facial for acne did some good job for me. For the first two days after the facial, I felt that my facial skin developed dryness.

Acne problems subsided. But the marks left by acne did not disappear as expected. I was happy that no more new acne popped up on my face for another one month. The spa experts recommended for more facials over the next few months.

Choosing the right facial for your skin type and your problem is required to obtain best results for your money. If you are unable to decide for yourself, it is best to seek suggestions from an expert who could examine your facial skin and suggest the best one for you. Else, facials may not be worth your money spend.

Facial Skin Care Tips

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

Caring for your skin and caring for your body go hand in hand. Your skin is like a mirror that reflects all your habits. If you eat healthy and treat your body well, the result will be healthier more supple skin. However, if you eat foods that are greasy and bad for you, it will show through your skin in the form of pimples and blemishes. Because your skin releases toxins from your body many of the things you eat indirectly affect your skin.

One of the most important facial skin care tips is to maintain a healthy eating habit. By creating and sticking to a healthy diet, you will not only feel the benefits of it, but you will also see the benefits through a more lean body and most importantly you will notice it by the texture and complexion of your skin. Drinking a lot of water and eating healthy are important facial skin care tips that will not result in immediate improvement, but it will also be noticed as the years pass.

Aside from a good diet, cleansing and moisturizing are important facial skin care tips. Eating healthy helps maintain the health and look of your skin from the inside out, but that alone will not necessarily cure any skin problems that you may have. Cleansing daily helps to clear away any environmental damage that your skin may be suffering from, such as dirt or toxins. Moisturizing will also help your skin as it works as a barrier locking in moisture and protecting your skin. Exfoliating and weekly facials are more facial skin care tips that are useful. By exfoliating you are removing any unwanted dead skin cells allowing a cleaner, smoother layer of skin to appear. Facials can also be helpful in the maintenance of your skin, as various facials achieve various outcomes. Most facials are relaxing and soothing for the skin, where other facials open up the pores and allows the skin to breathe. If you suffer from oily skin then a facial that will tighten your pores may be an ideal product.

There are many products out there and several facial skin care tips that can be found through the internet and also in health magazines. But the constant repetitive tips are those that tell you to eat healthy, exercise, and cleanse daily. By following these facial skin care tips you will be successful and over a short period of time you will see results with a more clear healthy complexion. You can also obtain tips from your dermatologist who will be able to advise you on the right kind of skin care for your skin type.

How to Repair and Remove Melasma, Scars, Acne and Pigmented Skin

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

Melasma is identified by dark patches of skin that can break though and present itself on any area of the body, but is more often seen on the face in particular the cheeks, nose, lips and forehead. Exposure to sunlight, hormonal problems during pregnancy, and anti epileptic drugs have each been established as being a trigger to cause Melasma in a certain number of individuals. With regard to one of the procedures of repair and to remove the discoloured patches of skin it is important to always wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 all year round in combination with the treatment here.

Acne can appear at any time of life but for many it will first appear and establish itself during the teenage years with the typical spots boils, red greasy oily skin, that can stubbornly remain in place until well in to adulthood, and some people in turn may develop acne scars.

A common myth about acne and pimples is that squeezing pimples is just as effective as treating it with an antiseptic product.. In fact, squeezing a pimple can force debris deeper into the follicle, spread infection, and worsen a blemish, causing pigmented acne scars. When you pick at the skin, it can cause acute inflammation and seriously damage the skin tissue.

Just remember that popping that pimple can extend the healing time and may cause a permanent scar. Allow the blemish to heal on its own, the right way.Pigmented spots of skin can be as a direct result of these spots, boils or any other cut or wound to the skin and without the correct treatment can remain permanent.

15 Easy to Follow Tips to Control Your Eczema

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

This article gives you 15 easy tips to follow to help control your Eczema

Tip 1

Moisturized skin is healthy skin and this is especially the case when it comes to those suffering from eczema. However be aware that too much water is a faux pas. For example, soaking in a hot bath for a long period of time can dry out the skin a great deal. It is essential to take short, warm or lukewarm showers and when you take a bath, make the soak a quick one. Also if you are cleaning and must have your hands in and out of water for an extended period of time then wear a pair of rubber or vinyl gloves.Aloe Vera propolis is a very good barrier cream, practically in the winter months

Tip 2

Everything in moderation is a saying that is especially appropriate to people with eczema. Too much water on your skin is bad, but dehydration is really bad too. Dry skin areas are at risk, but so are areas with oily skin. Temperature and air humidity also have a negative effect on the condition. So make sure to manage your environment very carefully. Why not try a salt lamp to help clean and calm you environment(www.crystalrocksaltlamp.com) Youll discover where your trigger areas are and you will learn what your safe zone is.

Tip 3

Eczema can very often be triggered because the sufferer is allergic to something. Usually it can be dust mites, pollen, pet hair, air fresheners or something else in your environment. Therefore it is important for an eczema sufferer to make sure that their home environment is as clean and dust free as humanly possible. So once again use a salt lamp to keep the air in your house clean and pure to help your eczema.

Tip 4

It is certainly not an easy thing to do but trying to keep as moderate a temperature as possible in your home and avoiding being outside when it is very humid are two things you should try to do. Keep cool during the summer while at home by using lots of fans or putting in an air conditioner. However keep in mind that air conditioning can be very drying to the skin as it depletes the air of moisture, therefore always use an adequate amount of moisturizer on your skin. The drier air of winter is such because cold air has less of an ability to lock in moisture, Aloe Vera Propolis is ideal as a winter moisturizer and help with dry skin which is more likely to become red and itchy skin during these months, so always use a humidifier during the wintertime to maintain a sufficient level of humidity.

Tip 5

Avoid anything that contains harsh chemical such as products like paint strippers and pesticides. Many ingredients such as astringents, alcohol and a variety of fragrances that are used in cleaners, cosmetics, air fresheners, emollients, tissue, toilet paper, and so on can make eczema go from being mild to moderate or even severe.Forever Living Products have a wonderful all round cleaner that cleans anything from loos to white shirts.Made with aloe vera ( email me at richard@aloeveraexpress.com for more information) It is a good rule of thumb to always read labels before purchasing products for the body, face and/or home environment.

Tip 6

Have you considered that food might be causing your eczema? Coffee, dairy, peanuts and wheat are known allergy triggers, and it could be that a mild allergy to these products could make your eczema worse. If you can not get tested for allergic reactions by your doctor, then the best thing to do is to cut out these risk foods and see if your eczema improves. You can later re-introduce one item at a time a week apart to see which triggers a worsening in your eczema. That way you know what it is that is triggering your eczema.

Tip 7

Breast-feeding prevents eczema in babies. Women who breast-feed their babies are fortunate, as breast milk has been shown to be extremely effective in controlling the onset of eczema. In fact studies have proven that in some babies, six months of breastfeeding can actually prevent eczema from starting in the first place.\r New mother who choose not to breast-feed but instead feed their babies a formula made from cows milk might do well to consider using a hypoallergenic milk formula such as a soy formula as opposed to a traditional type of formula.

Tip 8

Relax. Think happy thoughts. Focus on the good things in life. The last time you were really happy, what was that like? Stress is a significant contributor to the eczema condition so anything you can do to focus your mind away from it will help you feel better about yourself but can also reduce the eczema in the first place. For me it helps to go for long walks, by the sea as much as possible.

Tip 9

One of the most important tips to controlling eczema is to always make sure the skin is well moisturized. Use a mild soap or cleanser such as Aloe Liquid Soap, which is a rich moisturising hand and face cleanser with a generous amount of aloe. It is a good idea to check with your doctor about what kinds of cleansers are most suitable. Use mild mosturiser like Aloe Moistursing Lotion for your face and body. Very rich in texture and does not contain Lanolin.

Tip 10

After a lukewarm bath, make sure to pat dry the skin and not rub. It is the best way to avoid getting eczema and it is a great way to make sure you do not irritate the skin any further.

Tip 11

Wear loose fitting clothes, ideally pure cotton, as it allows the skin to breathe and is very effective at removing sweat off the skin. Also make sure to wash new clothes before using them to soften the fabric. You can use MPD for washing your clothes. It is a multi purpose concentrated cleaner which does not contain phosphorus. It has environmentally-friendly,mild,gentle formula which is kind to your hands and clothes.( for more information email richard@aloeveraexpress.com)

Tip 12

Here is a tip that has worked wonders for me and many people I know that have had some kind of skin conditions, but it may not work for you. It depends entirely on what triggers eczema for you, but I would always recommend having either an aloe vera plant in the house that you can cut up leaves from and use the gel inside the leaf to soothe the itchy area. We use it for everything that happens to our skin as it acts as both a re-hydrating moisturizer, anti septic cream and barrier cream in one. Strangely enough some people also report a heightened sense of well being after having applied it to their pressure points on the wrists and on the neck. This is with the pure gel. Aloe Vera gelly is a great product and just as effective and can be carried about with you unlike the plant.

Tip 13

It cannot be emphasized enough that the most important self-help tip for those suffering from eczema is to keep the skin well moisturized because well moisturized skin holds in natural moisture much better than dry skin and also encourages healing to take place at a more rapid rate.

Tip 14

Eczema patients need to observe careful bathing rituals so as not to further damage their skin and cause their condition to worsen. The products you buy must be non-scented and not harsh on the skins gentle surface whatsoever.Aloe Vera Bath Gelee really comes into its own here.An aloe vera formula that is kind to your skin, a great moisturising bath and shower gel. Forego floral scented or fruity scented soaps and cleansers for no nonsense natural cleansers that get you clean but also keep the moisture in your skin where you want it.

Tip 15

Always make use of a mild kind of soap or cleanser when you clean yourself. An excellent suggestions include Aloe Liquid soap It cannot be stressed enough- never use any products that are full of fragrance. Always choose products that are hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin.

A Few Simple Tips Of Treating A Cold Sore Effectively

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

Cold sores are also commonly called as fever blisters and extremely contagious especially in the lesion phase. They are caused by herpes simplex virus. Once you infected, the viruses will remain in your body forever. Cold sores will usually heal in about one week. But if they cause you embarrassment or pain, they can be treated to reduce the pain.

They are small, painful, fluid-filled blisters that appear around the mouth or nose. The virus lies dormant in the body and is reawakened by several factors such as too much exposure to sun, stress, lack of sleep and etc.

There are some commonly known simple tips of treating a cold sore. Tea contains tannic acid. Placing a tea bag on affected area during the tingle stage can possibly help to minimize the extent to which the lesion will grow.

Tea tree oil has been effective for some sufferers. Despite how intensely itchy the tingle stage of the cold sores can be, avoiding the urge to itch will minimize it. Healthy diet is also one of the ways to get rid of cold sores. Increase foods that have high quantities of antioxidants. Fruits and vegetables are excellent choices. Research has shown that foods high in arginine aid the development and reproduction of cold sores and foods high in lysine helps to inhibit the herpes virus.

Avoid foods that contain high arginine, including most chocolate, grains, nuts and legumes. Reduce caffeine intake. Instead, complex carbohydrates intake should be increased to treat it. Outbreaks are most commonly brought on by large amounts of stress. An outbreak is very irritating. Be sure to get enough rest to reduce the stress.

There is no permanent cure for cold sore. So by understanding these natural remedies is important to get relief from cold sore.

Cosmetic Surgery and the Use of Collagen

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

Collagen is the main protein found in the animal connective tissue. As a matter of fact 40% of the protein in mammals is collagen. It is also one of the long fibrous structural proteins like the enzymes, quite tough and inextensible and makes the main component of cartilage, ligaments, bone, teeth and tendons. For skin strength and elasticity, a good collagen along with keratin is required. As such degeneration of collagen resultant of old age means wrinkles. Well collagen is also required for strong blood vessels as well as for tissue development. In fact collagen is increasingly used in burns surgery and cosmetic surgery.

Its uses:

Industrial uses: When collagen is partly hydrolyzed, it produces gelatin, which used in many foods. Though nutritionally both collagen and gelatin lack protein quality, some of the collagen based dietary supplements does improve quality of skin and finger nails.

Collagen is also great as glue. In fact the oldest glue ever used, dated some 8000 years back was collagen. Not only then were collagen applied to hold utensils but even now its still very useful for musical instruments like the violin and guitars which has to be opened every now and then for repairs, and collagen on reheating can be softened easily unlike the synthetic plastic adhesives which are permanent.

Medical uses: Collagen use is well known for cosmetic surgery and for burns surgery too. Though for those with high rate of allergic reactions are not recommended due to prolonged redness of its effects. But it only happens to those sensitive to collagen. Anyhow, collagen is great for construction of artificial skin substitutes like skin burns. The collagens may be either bovine or procine, used with a mixture of fibroblasts, growth factors, silicones and glycosaminoglycans.

Collagen is commercially sold as a joint mobility supplement too.

Types of collagen:

Presently there are twenty eight types of recognized collagens. As a matter of fact collagen is found throughout the body and in different forms. One of the most abundant one is the Type I collagen in the scar tissue, found in organic part of the bone and tendons. Type IV collagen is present in eye lens, Type V in placenta, Type VI collagen in interstitial tissue, Type IX collagen in cartilage etc.

Due to collagen defects, certain genetic defect also occurs like the osteogenesis imperfecta commonly known as the brittle bone disease. Some other genetic diseases caused due to lack of collagen and linked to other diseases are Bethlam myopathy and Ulrich myopathy caused by mutations, congenital muscular dystrophies etc.

Should You Try Botox Injections For Wrinkles?

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

Botox is called Botulinum Toxin by doctors. Years ago, it had other uses. Lately, it has been discovered that Botox could be used to solve wrinkle problems as well. This anti-wrinkle treatment is a kind of medication used to treat wrinkle problems. Botox injections are injected in the wrinkled area of the skin, relaxing the facial tissues. This results in gradual disappearance of fine wrinkles. It is best for deep forehead wrinkles.

It has now become the fastest growing division in the cosmetic industry.

Many believe that this medication paralyses the facial muscles. It is not a false assumption. It so can happen only if you take an over dosage of this medication. You should always leave it to the doctor when it comes to taking a Botox injection. The mixing of crystalline form of Botox with a form of liquid to prepare the Botox injection is quite a task. Variation in the amount of liquid and Botox crystals might call for help. I am sure you would not want that to happen. Therefore, it is important to go to a physician who is a professional, has done this before, and assures your safety and beauty to you.

You should always keep in mind, never take any other medication like aspirin or go to sleep to avoid bruising of your skin. However, never forget that all medical treatments involve some risks. It is just that the decree of risks range from low to high. Risks are minimal when you take Botox injection:

- Regular discomforts like headache or low temperature.

- Eyelids or eyebrows may droop. The doctor should check your facial condition before giving you any injection. This is called Ptosis.

- If you are allergic to egg, then Botox is a no-no for you. It has albumin as a base.

- It is recommended that pregnant women should not take Botox injections.

The results of Botox injection become visible after three days itself. The effects may last as long as four to five months. With time, the muscle activity will change reducing the effects of Botox.

There could be serious issues as well. Botox has botulism, which is a food poisoning toxin. This toxin can spread in your body putting your health at risk. However, if you not allergic to any of its ingredients, you might not suffer from any of these risks. With increase in demand in the cosmetic industry, Botox industry has become the most wanted wrinkle reduction injection. For good results, you will have to take Botox injection every three to four months because after few months, the effect of Botox begins to fade away. Botox cannot completely erase those wrinkles off your face. It only lightens the deep wrinkles and help get rid of fine wrinkles on your face.

There may be other injections as well. Nevertheless, it is more favorable because of its results. This is the modern fountain of youth and this is the potion that will make you look younger. Take a picture of yourself after taking Botox injection to see the results. You will be surprised.

Examining The Side Effects Of Tanning Beds

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

Its no secret that all living things need the sun to survive. But for sun worshippers, it goes beyond mere survival and into the realm of the perfect tan. Tanning becomes an outdoor ritual in the summer and in an indoor alternative year round. Tanning beds have continued to increase in popularity even as research continues to expose the side effects of tanning beds.

Tanning beds offer users an alternative to natural outdoor sun exposure. We tan in the sun because the sun itself emits a combination of ultraviolet rays that affect the pigmentation of our skin. UVA rays are longer ultraviolet rays that reach deep into the layers of our skin. UVB rays the more dangerous of ultraviolet rays are shorter in length and affect the top layer of our skin. Overexposure to both UVA and UVB rays can significantly speed the aging of our skin as seen by wrinkles, age spots, and a myriad of other complications. And, of course, such overexposure can also lead to skin cancer such as melanoma. Tanning beds may offer an alternative to tanning outdoors, but the truth is, the side effects of tanning beds are just the same as exposure to natural sunlight.

Just like the sun, tanning beds emit a combination of UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are actually increased to speed the tanning process, and UVB rays are minimized by approximately 40%. While the reduction of UVB rays does decrease our exposure to danger, it does not eradicate it. Thus exposure to dangerous ultraviolet light is still considered one of the side effects of tanning beds.

Additionally, the targeted exposure to UV rays that you find in tanning beds actually increases the possibility of burning. Burned skin one of the side effects of tanning beds is damaged skin; and damaged skin increases your chances of skin cancer down the road. Therefore, if you have the tendency to burn in the sun such as those with very fair skin you should avoid tanning beds at all costs. However, if you absolutely must tan, do so with an eye to the side effects of tanning beds. Keep your time and frequency to a minimum and use protective lotion designed for your specific skin type. If you tan responsibly you will minimize the side effects of tanning beds and reduce the danger as much as possible.

Hypertrophic Scar Treatment Cost - What is the Price of Treating Hypertrophic Scarring?

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

One of the most unsightly scars that anyone should ever have to deal with is that of the hypertrophic scar. This type of scar is very visible and raised above the level of the surrounding skin. Furthermore the scar is not just limited to the traumatized area but it may also expand outwards from these areas and are generally found with keloids. Treatment for the scarring is very difficult and in general it is also not very cheap. While there are several means to remedy the scars, only a few have been proven to be successful and therefore we will only focus on the costs associated with these hypertrophic scar treatments.

For starters the hypertrophic scarring is a skin issue and therefore the surgeon who will be dealing with the procedure will most likely be a dermatologist but another specialist may also perform the procedure. There is also the issue of your skin pigmentation. The remedies that are known to be successful are usually only good for fair skinned patients as hypopigmentation is likely to result from the procedure which can become very unsightly for someone who has undergone a hypertrophic treatment. In general the surgeon will warn you of the chance of hypopigmentation if it applies to your particular case.

There are many factors that come into play with the options that you may be given for your scar treatment and in some cases the average patient s only left with one real option. If you are suffering from a hypertrophic scar then it is usually the best advice to seek the consultation of a qualified, licensed and certified professional who will be better able to help you understand the procedure and the costs associated with it.

Remember that the dermatologist is an expert in the skin and you should therefore listen to his or her advice closely as they have the experience that can make the difference between a successful or a botched scar treatment.

The surgeon may opt to have you undergo a blue dye pulsed laser resurfacing procedure as ir is this procedure that has been shown to have the best outcomes associated with the hypertrophic scars. While some others may give you the option of microdermabrasions or chemical peels it is important to remember that the hypertrophic scar is a reoccurring scar. What this means is that it has a bad habit of reappearing after undergoing a treatment especially when it comes to the chemical peels and the microdermabrasions. The blue dyed pulsed laser resurfacing has the highest success rate. Most of those who have undergone this particular scar treatment has not seen their scars return even after 4 years.

The Real Way To Shave

Published by admin under Natural Skin Care

If you are a guy then you probably hate the part of the morning where you have to apply some white form to your face and to then take a sharp blade to your skin in order to shave and look a little more human than you do with that stubble on your face.

Some of the problems with shaving include irritation to the skin; there is also the possibility that you can cut yourself badly and sometimes you can even get the odd spot especially if the blade is blunt and it pulls the hair away rather than cuts it.

So just how can you make shaving less painful and much more comfortable?

As mentioned shaving can cause irritation to the skin and this is mainly due to the fact that the razor that you are using is of poor quality or the blades have become blunt. Shaving with a blunt blade can make shaving very unpleasant and can also increase the time of the shaving process. This is because you will need to make more movements of the blade against your skin and it is this increased movement that can lead to your skin becoming red, sore and sensitive.

It is worth your time and that of your face, to actually invest in a good quality razor that has no less than three blades, and you should always be looking at changing your blades on a frequent and regular basis.

No there is no suggestion as to when to change blades, but you will be able to work this out when your current blade is not cutting hair from your face as well as it once did and shaving is taking longer too perform.

Another problem that you could be facing is the type of technique that you use. Do you wet shave or do you electric shave? Now without doubt wet shave is far better and far kinder to the skin then the use of an electric razor. Using an electric razor will make the beard dense over time, making it just more and more uncomfortable to shave.

So the best way to shave is to use a good razor and to wet shave. But some people make the mistake of using a foam or gel. Now these in there own right could be a part of the problem as they are generally chemically based and the ingredients of such products could result in irritation to the skin.

The best way to shave is to use a facial oil and to make sure that you shave after you bath or shower. Doing this will make the whiskers of the beard very soft and applying a oil to the skin will help to glide the razor over your skin.

So you are reducing any type of friction from happening and making the experience of shaving much more enjoyable and painless.

After you have shaved you should further help to calm the skin by using a good moisturiser. In order to help keep the skin tight and to fight off the signs of ageing you should really consider shaving with cold water. You should also rinse with cold water once you have finished simply too keep the skin tight and your skin more youthful in appearance.

There are many problems associated with

shaving. You can learn more about protecting your face and see if there are any specific facial treatments that you should be using.
