Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil like DHA and EPA have been found to fight against many diseases ranging from minor psychological conditions like anxiety to degenerative and fatal diseases like cancer. Omega 3 and anxiety are very much related to each other since omega 3 fats cure conditions related to mental health including anxiety and depression.

Benefits of fish oil and omega 3 supplements have been seen in patients with all types of depression including postpartum depression and bipolar manic disorder. Therefore, it is important to learn how omega 3 and anxiety can be linked together.

There are many symptoms of anxiety and depression including sleeplessness, frequent mood swings, feeling of loss and helplessness, low self-esteem and other similar signs. Taking fish oil capsules and foods rich in omega 3 fats in depression as well as anxiety can make all these signs and symptoms go away in a few weeks.

Heavy medication and emotional response to certain stimuli are normal causes of anxiety. To avoid other complications fish oil should be consumed in these psychological illnesses as it is pure and does not cause any side effects and infections.

Depression and anxiety are more common among women. They also easily become victims of postpartum depression and baby blues after giving birth to a child. It has been found that these conditions are linked with severe DHA deficiency in the body which is an essential omega 3 fatty acid.

These women should increase their intake of foods rich in omega 3 fats particularly DHA and EPA and should also consume omega 3 supplements on a regular basis. It is also advisable for these women to avoid tea, alcohol, too much sugar, food colorings, and carbonated drinks in conditions like depression, anxiety and memory loss.

DHA is responsible for proper functioning of the nervous system and is also helpful in improving the ability to concentrate and memorize things. It is therefore very useful for elderly people and growing children. It has been found that DHA prevents hyperactivity in children which is becoming very common among Western people.

Anti-depressant and anti-anxiety prescription medicines are usually not very suitable for people who have other health concerns like diabetes, high blood pressure and stomach problems. The solution is to consume pure fish oil capsules or vegetable oils in liquid form like flax seed oil, corn oil and hemp oil to cure both depression and anxiety without causing adverse health effects and allergies.
