Technique #1. Breathing slowly
You need to practice. If you are not doing any exercise, running after you wake up will help you to develop the ability of breathing slowly. In fact, you will breath with the nose.
You will learn how to use your diaphragm and abdomen to relax whenever you are in a situation that can trigger an attack.
Be sure to run at least twice a week. Plus this is good for your overall health anyway.
Technique #2. Accept it
One of the worst thing you can do if you are a victim of panic attacks is trying to escape or ignore them. You need to accept that you are subject to this problem. When you do this, you will become aware, and you will automatically reduce the chances of this situation to happen.
Technique #3. Talk with someone
Whenever you feel that something is going wrong, or you feel any of the physical or mental symptom of an upcoming panic attacks, be sure to relax first by breathing slowly, and talk to someone as well.
You can speak with your spouse, your friend or anyone you feel comfortable with.
