Why Write Movie Reviews On Old Or New Movies?

Critics write movie reviews. Well, so can you. Often times, many people only go by movie reviews that have been written by critics. This is only because they come out first, before the movie is even released. But, many times people wait to see movies until after the first weekend. Your reviews can help many reviewers decide what movies to see.

Writing movie reviews on old movies also helps viewers decide what to see. No one really wants to trust a review written 50 years ago written on Lawrence of Arabia. Not only has the time changed, but so have politics, attention span, and taste. So, writing a new movie review on an old movie can be every helpful.

If you are trying to write a review on new movies but think your reviews will not be read, you are mistaken. Often, people dont trust the critics. They like to see what real people have to say about a movie that they really want to see. If well written, short, and to the point, it could help persuade the masses. A lot of movie review sites actually accept more reviews after the film has been released. People like fresh content. If someone is interested in going to the new Pirates movie, they would rather read an article written by you yesterday than by someone who wrote the review the day of release. This is because, of course, a person who really wants to see the movie is probably going to like it, rather than you, who didnt know if you wouldnt like it and wrote a more recent review.

Writing reviews on not well-known movies also helps sway people or at the very least, get them interested in what you are interested in. For example, this is what propelled Donnie Darko into stardom. Many critics and movie goers had not seen the movie until reviewers started praising it. As it gained momentum, more people had reviewed it.

Your reviews dont need to be well written, nor do they need to be long. But, you should write reviews on all of your favorite or least favorite movies. If you chose to write reviews on new movies or old movies either way it helps out the cause of movies in general. And who knows the next unknown movie you write about may become the next cult classic.

If you enjoy writing, and you have a passion for films, you might as well take the extra time to write a movie review. You may feel better that you actually swayed people to see your favorite or least favorite movies. There are many websites out there that allow you to write reviews, rate movies, and even recommend movies to friends.
